| About Laser Hair Removal |
 |
TRIA's diode
laser is designed to remove unwanted hair
through a process called "selective
photothermolysis." When directed at the site of
unwanted hair, the laser is absorbed by the
hair's black or brown color, disabling the
follicle with little discomfort. Since the laser
is reacting to the melanin in the hair and
transforming light energy into thermal energy,
the surrounding skin is not harmed.
Results will depend on several
factors: |

Your skin type and color

The initial cause of hair growth
|
 | |
Laser hair removal is most effective
when done on hairs in the "active"
growth phase of the hair growth cycle. The
length of time necessary for each laser hair
removal session varies from a few minutes to an
hour or more, depending on the size of the area.
And, to target hair growth in every hair growth
cycle, repeat sessions are usually recommended
once every two to four weeks to achieve best
results. Though you may feel a slight discomfort
initially, the feeling generally fades at the
end of each session. If used as directed, you
should see less hair re-growth, and the hair
that does return should become progressively
lighter and finer over time.
